Information Day for Creatives

The Creative Entrepreneurs Information Day focuses on development programmes and funding opportunities offered by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s Culture and Creativity sector, as well as learning bites or micro-credentials in the creative field: for whom and why?

13:00–14:15 EIT Culture and Creativity support opportunities for the creative sector

Kati Uusi-Rauva, Head of EIT Culture and Creativity North (the Northern regional hub of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s Culture and Creativity programme), will speak about the programme and present its activities in developing innovation in the creative sector, as well as funding opportunities that support the growth of the creative industries.

14:30–15:30 Learning bites or micro-credentials in the creative field: for whom and why?

What value do micro-credentials offer to creative entrepreneurs, what kinds of learning bites are offered by Estonian universities, and do they help future-proof creative entrepreneurs? These topics will be discussed by representatives of higher education institutions and experts. The discussion will follow a Living Lab format, encouraging active involvement and co-creation process. The open discussion focusing on the pros and cons of micro-credentials and future opportunities will be moderated by Maret Ahonen, Head of Entrepreneurship Programmes at the Tartu Centre for Creative Industries, who will introduce Erasmus+ project CREDEX: Credentials for Creatives. The panel will be held in Estonian and is open to all interested parties.

On the mission: EIT Culture & Creativity supporting creative and cultural sectors of Europe

The presentation will contain background for EIT Culture & Creativity, targets and target groups for the work, essential themes in innovation and skill building in creative and cultural sectors, practical services for start-ups and sme’s, universities, regions and ecosystem partners as well as cases from previous calls and programmes. There will also be a short description on how to read the EIT Culture & Creativity calls, required criteria for applicants, required information for the project etc. 

Speaker: Kati Uusi-Rauva, M.A. in Cultural Anthropology, director of EIT Culture & Creativity North since autumn 2024.
Since the late 1990s, Kati has been involved in supporting creative sector professionals and companies in exports, internationalization, and securing funding. She has held various roles, including producer at a gaming company, independent agent and entrepreneur, and CCSI expert in business development, funding programs and export initiatives. Before joining EIT Culture & Creativity, she led AGMA, the independent association of agents and managers in creative industries in 2014-2022, and Uniarts Hub pre-incubator at the University of the Arts Helsinki in 2022-24.
