TARTU CENTRE FOR CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

Tartu Centre for Creative Industries (Tartu Loomemajanduskeskus/LMK/TCCI), founded by the City of Tartu, has been operating since 2009.

  • Regional development centre of creative industries

LMK is the regional development centre of creative industries. It functions as the coordinator of creative industries in Tartu and South Estonia by providing information and training programmes as well as legal and economic consulting for creative entrepreneurs. We help new start businesses to establish themselves, reduce their failure rate and accelerate their growth. Through our activities we aim at urban and regional revitalisation stimulating business development as well as economic diversification.

  • Business incubator

LMK is a business incubator offering pre- and incubation services for both would be entrepreneurs as well as already existing companies in creative industries.

LMK provides entrepreneurs a tailor-made development program involving personal business consultants and mentors. The incubation program includes workshops, seminars, online training courses, participation in business fairs etc.

Incubation period lasts from 2-4 years with evaluation sessions once a year, where we assess the progress of the company and set targets for the next year.

The priority areas of the LMK are fashion, contemporary art, film, design, and performing arts.

  • Initiator and co-organizer of events

LMK is a co-organizer of a variety of events and initiatives such as:

LMK runs the Tartu Regional Film Fund offering a 20% cash rebate scheme for both local and international filmproductions shot or postproduced in Tartu and Tartu County. We also collaborate with the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) in co-organizing Tartu Love Film Festival tARTuFF, the side festival of PÖFF as well as Black Nights Film Festival in Tartu.
